We had a blast at our party. The band, Suttle, was great entertainment, barbecue from Jackalope Jack’s was tasty and the beer from Olde Mecklenburg Brewery went fast. The silent auction raised over $1500 for us!

It was an early wake up call, but we rallied to support Operation Homefront’s 5K at Freedom Park. The JROTC was there for the National Anthem and we met some great people.

With each adoption we facilitate, we provide a gift basket of goodies for the hero and new companion. Each basket includes most everything a new “parent” needs, such as: food and water bowls, leash, collar, treats, toys, some food and a book on dog care.

150 soldiers came in to Charlotte from Camp Lejeune, Fort Bragg and Raleigh for a day of fun, sponsored by the USO of Charlotte. The day included a 2-hour cruise around Lake Norman aboard a luxury yacht, a tour of NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip’s race shop, volleyball, pool tables and music at Midtown...

The charity dog wash and ice cream social at Dogtopia Charlotte was a wonderful success.
Over $1400 was raised for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department’s K-9 Unit, and we made lots of new friends. The 90 frozen dog treats we made were devoured in just a couple of hours, and nine gallons...

Last week, a local group of Korean War veterans poked shovels into dirt at a Mint Hill park, the ceremonial start to a new memorial that will honor 789 North Carolinians who died in Korea.

Thank you to all of our volunteers and booth visitors that helped to make Bark in the Park a resounding success! This marked our official launch after receiving our IRS non-profit status.
Labrador Butter had been waiting at the shelter for a while for the right family. They are getting along famously and were instant buddies. This is our 34th adoption.

A beautiful day was punctuated by moving presentations and exciting events!
